My Lackluster Attempt at a Post...

*sigh*

I look at this stupid dashboard at least once a week. Trying to think of something funny, interesting, inspiring or otherwise blogworthy and nothing comes to me.

I find myself fighting the urge to click the DELETE button, time and time again.
I'm unable to do it.
Can't muster the courage to let this go.
It was my outlet to the outside world during my grief, through my hardships, in my quest for companionship, finding my love and all the adventures in between.
I've "met" so many wonderful people through this ol' blog but, most of them have moved on to bigger and better or FB or Twitter...

I know there are still bloggers out there. I read their post's every day.

I'm at an impasse.

taptaptap... Is this thing on? *squeeeeeeeeeeeeech*

I'm not sure why I'm posting.
I think nearly most everyone is twitterpated, facebooked and otherwise gone the hell from blogland.
I've never been big on change.
Quite frankly, it scares the hell out of me...

Alot has happened since May.
Too much to try to catch everyone up on.
Alot of drama, comedy, traveling and mundane everyday BS that we try to find the humor in.

Jake attended prom, managed to stay out of trouble, graduated, started his summer job, quit his summer job, let his mouth override his ass, got kicked out/moved out (which ever version you want to believe), changed his mind about the Marines, changed his mind again about the Marines, moved back home, started another summer job, broke up with his girlfriend, got back together with his girlfriend and leaves for bootcamp on the 4th of August.

Jessica is 15. *sigh*

Hannah thinks she's 15 and really, REALLY, needs to start her period already.

TJ turned double digits yesterday. He makes me tired just watching him.
I wish I had just a little of that energy. He is the last of the kiddo's and I think he actually still loves me...

We took a week long trip to Colorado. The kids or I have never seen the mountains. They were beautiful. The drive was long. We went to Gunnison National Forest, the Royal Gorge, Blue Mesa, Black Canyon, Manitou Cliff Dwellings and Seven Falls. Took alot of pictures, most of which my little Fuji just couldn't capture the true beauty. Tavis thought everything was awesome. The girls were bored alot of the time. Mountainschmountain, not nearly enough boys to look at...

While we were gone, there was a freak hailstorm, teamed with 90 mph straight-line winds. It did ALOT of damage to alot of homes in our area. Our house/vehicles sustained some damage. Not nearly as bad as others. My sister alerted me to what had happened by a picture/text message.
Picture: My front flower bed nearly completely white.
Text: There is ice at your house. Is there ice in Colorado?
Thanks Jenny. Haha.

Theres it in a nutshell.
I hope everyone is well.

Maybe It's Just Me...

I enjoyed Thriller just as much as the next person BUT, does anyone else think it's a little gross that Michael Jackson is plastered all over every possible news orifice? Just because at one point in your life you were the "King of Pop" it doesn't make you NOT a child molester...

Happy Mother's Day!

Just sayin'...

I'm really tired of hearing about this "HUGE" Miss USA debate.
Equal rights.
Legalize gay marriage.
Blah, blah, blah.

Before any readers, who happen to be gay, come along get their panties in a twist, hear me out.

In our country, with a divorce rate hovering at nearly 50%, I find it hard to swallow that narrow minded politicians still cling to the idea that marriage is "sacred, and only to be between a man and a woman".
I say, with time comes change.
If you are a gay/lesbian and want to be married, go for it.
And, good luck, cause you are going to need it.

Personally, I don't care.
Call me bitter.
Call me jaded.
Whatever.

Two people who love each other should not have to have permission from anyone to share their lives together. Gay OR straight. Everyone is entitled to the same rights. Gay or straight.
Supposedly that is what our country is based on.
Well, it's supposed to be, now that we have seperation of church and state.
Right.
All of these politicians are stating that the law says marriage is to be between a man and a woman.
And where did they get that idea?
From the Bible.
If you remove the Bible from the equation, what do you have?
Not a leg to stand on regarding the "law".
You can't have it both ways.
Or I guess maybe you can.
Maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe I've misunderstood something along the way.
Or not.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

An Old Irish Blessing

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
